DEANNE LEBER is a West Australian poet. Her work has appeared in various publications, and she has performed it at many readings around Perth. Deanne's first collection of poetry was shortlisted for the West Australian Premier's Book Awards in 2007. Currently, Deanne is completing her Doctorate in Writing at Edith Cowan University.
Deanne is also passionate about working in the disability sector, where she is an Auditor of Disability Employment Services. Deanne was involved in coordinating the 2008 and 2009 Creative Connections poetry and art exhibitions.
Deanne is a proud new mother: her son, Ezekiel was born in September 2009.
Born in 1929 in Bassendean, RON OKELY enjoyed the Swan River in his childhood. Married in 1954, Ron and his wife Rona with a family of four lived in Regional WA with some breaks in the city. The family has grown with grandchildren and great grandchildren. He has been living in Maddington since 1971, retiring from his position as Deputy Chief Social Worker at Royal Perth Hospital in 1987.Ron's poems have been published in various journals including Friends of Kings Park magazine. He enjoys presenting his poetry orally and likes to hear the work of others.
