6 Feb 2010: Indigo (SA slam winner) + The Siege (aka Catherine Jennings)

Our slam-winning friend INDIGO from South Australia is in town... come and listen. Plus wildly entertaining local poet The Siege, and OPEN MIC. Professional sound. Plus The Moon's friendly service, relaxed ambience and excellent food and drink. 2-4pm at The Moon cafe, 323 William Street, Northbridge.

IndigoIndigo, 27, is an emerging artist in spoken word, poetry, circus and dance. Recently third in the 2009 Australian Poetry Slam, she was the SA State Winner two years running, but still can't manage to throw a ball. This is why she took up poetry (and juggling, where she has predictably gained no recognition whatsoever). She enjoyed Perth and its poets so much the last time she is back again to distract you, and herself, with some entertaining word play. If that doesn't work, she might be forced to resort to a little contortion.

The Siege Catherine Jennings, affectionately known as CJ and the Siege, is an actor, singer, dancer, poet and comedienne. She won her heat of the National Poetry Slam and was chosen as Poet in Residence for Pages Cafe in the State Library by the Australian Poetry Centre.

Catherine has recently become a Marriage and Funeral Celebrant. She continues to write via ongoing demand for I Ode U Personalised Poetic Tributes. (snowdunder@hotmail.com)
